Sep 1 forecast
Bitcoin remains just above the $77,750 threshold with little time left, so a qualifying settlement is favored but far from guaranteed.
Bitcoin is about $326 above the strike with fewer than nine hours remaining, making an above-threshold settlement the more likely outcome. Recent readings have generally remained above $78,000, but negative spot order flow, cooling momentum and elevated leverage leave ample room for a late reversal.
Points to YES
- Bitcoin currently has a narrow settlement-basis cushion above the $77,750 threshold. On September 1, Bitcoin was $78,076.24 on the settlement basis, about $326 above the threshold with 8.9 hours remaining.
- A closely watched long-term support level remains just below the settlement threshold. On August 31, Bitcoin maintained its 50-week exponential moving average at $77,269 as support ahead of the monthly close.
- Institutional fund flows remain supportive despite a recent slowdown. On September 1, reported U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows totaled $946 million for the latest week, although that was about half the preceding week's amount.
Points to NO
- Bitcoin has recently traded below the threshold, showing that the remaining cushion can disappear during an ordinary daily move.Bitcoin was $77,570 on August 30, down 0.85% for the day.
- Spot sellers have begun outweighing buyers while trading volume has weakened. On September 1, Glassnode reported that seven-day spot cumulative volume delta had fallen from $279.7 million to negative $67.2 million as spot volume declined from $8.7 billion to $6.2 billion.
