Repeated delays and reports that Gemini 3.5 Pro was scrapped leave little runway, so September 30 arriving first is likely.
Google’s expected Gemini 3.5 Pro release repeatedly slipped, and recent reporting says it was delayed or scrapped after disappointing performance. Google has instead maintained a rapid Flash-release cadence, still describes Gemini 3.1 Pro as its latest app model, and has not announced a new public Pro launch. A forum report of an accessible Pro-labeled image model shows some surprise-release risk, but its limited API visibility and uncertain official status do not yet outweigh the broader evidence. The most likely outcome is that September 30 arrives before Google makes another qualifying Gemini Pro model publicly available.
