Washington says the blockade remains fully enforced and no talks are underway, so an official announcement ending it by the deadline is unlikely.
The blockade is active, expanding in operational effect, and supported by a stated ability to continue indefinitely. Washington and Tehran are not in direct talks, while Tehran ties reopening Hormuz to broad demands extending beyond the blockade itself. A diplomatic route remains open because Washington has previously linked lifting the blockade to restored commercial shipping, but current corridor discussions are incomplete and too limited to qualify. An official blockade-end announcement is therefore unlikely.
