WTI stands at $92.2028 with recent settlements above $90, so the October contract settling above $89.99 on September 9 is highly likely.
The October contract has more than $2 of cushion over the threshold, while recent settlements and intraday trading have remained above $90. Unchanged OPEC+ production requirements also limit an immediate supply-driven retreat. The main threat is an abrupt diplomatic de-escalation that triggers long liquidation before the brief settlement window, but absent such a shock, WTI should preserve enough of its cushion to finish above the threshold.
